The Nabua Water District evolved from a Municipal Water System constructed in March 1984 by the Project Management Office (PMO) of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). The system was made up of a deepwell located at the Nabua National High School compound in Barangay San Miguel, distribution pipelines, public faucets, fire hydrants and a 227 cu. Meter steel reservoir which was completed in 1986. In November 3, 1986, the Sangguniang Bayan of the Municipality of Nabua, enacted Resolution No. 20-A creating the Nabua Water District (NAWAD) in accordance with Presidential Decree 198 otherwise known as the Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973. From then on, the Water District assumed full control of the administration and management of the water system implementing the provision of Title II of P.D. 198 or the Local Water District Law. In October 19, 1987, the Nabua Water District was issued a Conditional Certificate of Conformance (CCC) No. 315 by the Local Water Utilities Administration to discharged its vision as a basic Water Utility provider and an organization with a mandate of quality service for the constituents of the municipality thru its mission to develop, preserve and utilize the water resources within and beyond its jurisdiction for the common good of the people of Nabua.
